profess - claim that one has (a quality or feeling)
mused - To think about something carefully and for a long time
transparent:
He stood on the balcony, visible beyond the transparent curtains rustling in the moving haze.
rustle - the sound made by the movement of things such as leaves or paper
EX: He rustled his papers(= noisily moved them about) to hide his embarrassment.
haze - something such as heat or smoke in the air that makes it less clear, so that it is difficult to see well:
EX: I saw her through a haze of cigarette smoke.
EX: A brownish haze hung over the field.
straightforward:
( easy to understand or simple )
EX: It's a very complex issue to which there is no straightforward answer.
EX: My first pregnancy was very straightforward - there were no complications.
( honest and without unnecessary politeness: )
EX: She’s a straightforward, no-nonsense teacher.
impoverished:
EX: Drought and famine came in 1860, and then upon the impoverished state came the strain of the Civil War.
strain - puts pressure on something, sometimes causing damage:
EX: The hurricane put such a strain on the bridge that it collapsed.
EX: As you get older, excess weight puts a lot of strain on the heart.
EX: The recent decline in the dollar has put a bigger strain on the economic system.
an injury to a muscle or similar soft part of the body caused by using that part too much:
EX: Eyestrain
something that makes you feel nervous and worried:
EX: She's a lot better than she was but she's still not ready to face the stresses and strains of a job.
prosperous: The definition of prosperous is someone or something exhibiting financial success.
EX: The state has good railway communications and a prosperous trade.
